LOL! If I max out all of the settings on this I get worse framerates than crysis on very high.

Just run it DOSBox, then, and increase the cycles. Or does the Steam version have a Windows-only executible?
It runs great if I dont max out all of the settings. Thats with 1680x1050 16x AF, 32x AA, HDR, High res bloom lighting, advanced particle and lighting effects. It looks better than Quake 3. Im going to try some texture mods next.
hey for quake 2 try berserker@quake 2 its pain in the ass to download it xD my download wascanceled 7 times but its worth it if you put graphics high and make screen look ultra dark
darkplace wont run (obviously) high because you have vista or windows 7 ? its build to windows xp you lose about 50 fps if you put real time on its hell (RT world) it runs on my pc without realtime maxed about 70 fps i use medium powered laptop berserker runs comonly with 18 fps best is 61 and worst is 4
spexs if someone wants to know is:
amd Turion 64 x2 1.9ghz dualcore
nvidia Geforce 8600m gs (1200 mb own + can use 1500 ofpc´s ram)
4 gb ram ddr3 (1gb goes for videocard 32bit vista uses only 3gb :D)
