Highly Acclaimed Games That ARE NOT Polarizing

in other words, name some Highly Acclaimed Games (Critically) That ARE NOT Polarizing among the consumers.

Like for instance, I think STALKER SOC was overall highly graded by the critics as a whole....but i dont believe there was a real polarizing response from the players...seems people liked it and no one really loathed it.

Contrast this to... Skyrim, MW3, FO3,... u have considerable numbers of players who love them , and those who hate them

For consoles, I know PS3 has Resistance 3

360 has FOrza 4

both are not polarizing as such

Maybe DAO can fit the title Highly Acclaimed Games That ARE NOT Polarizing?

While high quality, I found DAO to be a grind a lot of the time. After a while I was playing it for the sake of playing it (The "I can't stop after 40 hours!" mentality), rather than actually enjoying the game.

Half Life 2 might fit the bill. Possibly C&C/C&C:RA (not the newer rubbish).

Perhaps this thread is polarizing. The TC is asking us to list games that people generally do not have strong opinions in favor of or against said games.

Couldn't stand it. Same goes for Braid, Trine, and some other highly acclaimed titles. On the other hand, I loved Skyrim, so did many reviewers, but still many others disliked it. We wouldn't be human if we weren't inherently polarized.

Anything that gets lots of critical acclaim is polarizing because lots of people hate things simply because they are popular.

Portal 2, Minecraft, Terraria, Starcraft II... Zubinen

These are pretty good examples. Not saying that everyone loves those games, but the people who purchase them generally know what to expect so they end up enjoying the games.

I got Terraria on sale. Did no research on it so I had no idea what to expect. It sucked imo, I don't know why people like it so much.

It's a pretty long game, you should watch some youtube videos to see what happens the further you get into it. Although to be honest its mainly a multiplayer game for me, so if you don't have a friend who is really into it it might be hard to appreciate

Perhaps DiRT 2. It was well received by critics and players. I haven't seen many people hate on it.

The vocal minority is always loudest. It makes every game appear to be completely polarising.

No such thing..I found SOC to be very buggy and kinda...there. To this day I still don't understand what's the rave about it, maybe its the human factor. Then there's Killing Floor which I feel boring very fast compared to left4dead 2, but I seen others who feels the opposite. You can't please everybody, and a game doesn't have to.

I don't think I've ever heard of or seen a game where someone didn't immediately claim it to be the second coming of Christ and someone else claiming it was the worst thing to happen to the industry, or something to that effect.

I think Batman: Arkham Asylum is among the least polarising games of this generation if you exclude those who have no interest in Batman in the first place.

bit.trip.runner is really frustrating and lacks the satisfaction of super meat boy or Dark Souls when you perfectly complete a level. You probably haven't heard anything bad about it because noone really played it before HIB4.

It's a boring concept that's been done dozens of times on iphone/tablet software, that I admit is put together very nice to have charm but with a mediocre core to the gameplay.
