What were you expecting for the best looking and adnvanced gameto date?
Also, HD are really cheap, got a nice Wester Digital 320g for $77 @ newegg and you could probably find some cheaper ones. When all else fails, delete that pron(back it up on a dvd of course)

i would spend too much on dvds if i were to do that... good thing i still have some space free for crysis... and im not surprised either, the game is fkng huge and the textures must be repeated like 5 time, for all the textures quality settings and the far distance...
people come on...12gigs is nothing? You have to be kidding me. Cause you act like its in everygame. No game is larger then 8gb out of the box. I know MMO keep adding stuff and end up being larger. But to say, "Its only 12gb" is kind of funny. 9mmSpliff
12GB really isn't that much compared to how much bigger/cheaper HDDs have gotten over the years. You can get a nice 500GB HDD for less than $200 these days. No game is larger than 8GB out of the box? X-Plane requires 60GB of HDD space. Of course that's with the entire scenery package~ Without the scenery it's only a 10GB install.

Eh... I have 2 500GB RAID 0 drives that are 76% free and one USB 2.0 external 320GB drive that I keep most of my games on. 12GB isn't much to mention.

Considering the huge open enviroment of Crysis, it is to be expected. Plus, you have seen how nice Crysis looks, those textures will take up a lot of space.
I have only total 100GB, 60GB were previousely taken from me.
Anyway, because I have so many games on my PC (and their installations ;)) I have 5 GB free on C and maybe 12 free on D. I will not be able to play crysis If I don't free more space. I don't think I can delete any game I havenow.. I hope that a month from now I'll delete those games already (I feel sad when deleting a game, because I rarely reinstall).

Yeah, I would have to agree with you there. 5 years ago, 12GB would have been gargantuan for a PC game, but with the standard HD being 250GB now, it doesn't seem like much.
[QUOTE="Adam-117"]12 gigs is nuthindrucom
Ooook.....Flight SimulatorX took 15gigs....Crysis isn't that big.wingman6541
You realize you both are morons, right?
If a building is 100 stories high but another one is 200 stories high, is the 100-story building small?
12 gigabytes is a lot for a first person shooter. Even World of Warcraft, with a map that is undoubtedly bigger than Crysis's maps by far, is only like 8 gigabytes If I can recall.
1) WoW is way bigger than 8gigs now, it is approaching or exceeded 20 gigs from all the patches over 2 years that added tons of zones and not to mention The Burning Crusade
2)You do realize the size of Crysis and since it is the best looking game to date, it will be bigger than the average FPS?
3) Use your head.
lol yall hounded him quicker than white trash on velveeta!.. I think his main concern is just that the only other game that at least i can think of that used that was that big was 8 gigs... hes not worried about his hard drive hes just stating... wow thats a big jump.. right? from 8 or 9 to 12?.. big in my mind..... And were not discussing a flight sim, lol, those games are MADE to have alot of stuff in it lol. But crysis is just another fps. yes, i did just say another fps... sue me. =)

haha, ya most FPS are the size of Crysis and have fully destructible enviroments and look like Crysis(thus having bigger textures=more space needed). /sarcasm off....your logic sucks, do you not think Crysis will have a lot of stuff in it? I think you need to read/watch up on the game more.

When was i ever debating the fact that crysis should not be 12 gigs?... I never said that its outrageous that it is, and it has bad graphics.. I only stated that its big... I know that there are a crapload of textures and alot of space will be needed (I know this)of it because of the insane depth of graphics. I think you need to read more of what people have said rather than trying to bash on someone cuz you feel tough behing your keyboard.
With the sizes of current HDD's who cares 12gb isnt much at all. If 12gb is taking up that much of your HDD you should be upgrading or NOT pc gaming.QuattroRS6Mines 80GB. :) I'm not upgrading since it still fits. lol
[Okay im sorrya couplegames require more then 8gb out ofthe box...Flight Sim and X-Plane 8.Im not talking add-ons or anything. Its not like 12gb is the norm amongst games. The avg for a game is 4gb now-a-days
9mmSpliff
I'd say it's more like 6 GB, but either way, 12 GB is a lot....but it's also not a shocker, I've seen it before, it's just rare. Besides, the disk space required should be the least of anyone's concerns regarding the general System Requirements of this game.
