It all depends on what inputs your 7.1 system has, and what inputs your Tv has can also come into play. Also, what sound outputs do you have on your PC? is it just a simple head phone jack?

If you have the optical output on your Pc, you just need an optical cable to run from your PC to the receiver optical in. Use your normal video out put for the pc to run to your monitor. when you have the Pc on, sitch the receiver input option to the optical setting, and the PC sound will go out to your system and the video will go to your monitor.

I would suggest buying cables at monoprice.com

OK this is the sort of thing you are after: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/4027 The inputs you need are as follows: 1 optical input, 1 pair of RCA(red and white) input. This will take the sound from your PC and Wii and output them to the surround speakers. So to recap, you will need: 1 home theatre system like above with the listed inputs, and 1 optical cable.

For the Wii, you should run both the audio and video cables from the system to the receiver. You should then have corresponding video output on the receiver that you will need to run to your TV... this will allow the audio to come out of the surround sound, and the video to go to the TV. As far as speakers and receivers... with the receiver you'll be fine if you get something that outputs at about 100 watts per channel. This should give you plenty of power to enjoy true surround sound... unless you're an audiophile, then you need to get the most power you can find. The speakers really should depend on the size of the room you'll have them in as well as the style of setup you would like. If you are planning on being in a small room (like a bedroom), then get small satellite speakers. If you're going to be in a larger room, then maybe find some that are bookshelf size. Also, if you are planning on mounting your speakers to the wall or ceiling, then you will need smaller sized speakers no matter how big the room is. But when it comes down it, it's ultimately about which setup you prefer. You can also find plenty of all-in-one packages (receiver and speakers sold together), these are usually cheaper than buying everything separately.
