Homefront is such a COD rip off!

I bet other people said that before me, but I just really have to get it off my chest. It's such a rip off! and not a good one too. I mean if at least it was a good copy then I wouldn't have minded it that much, but if you're a rip off at least do it as proper.
I was playing the game feeling like- yeah it feels like COD, and then that scene happened- MINOR SPOILER ALERT!- when the guy get you and your friends pass that jail door to an open fieldand it happenes to be an ambush, and then time slows down and you and your friends take over, or another one when you open that door and it slows time and you have to shoot everyone pass that door, ahhh.. such a rip off, and a bad one too!- MINOR SPOILER ALERT!/ END.
Even the characters are the same, like that main friend of yours, w/e his name is, it's like one of the same characters from COD, copy paste, no trouble!
The engine too really resembles the COD one (might be the same one, I don't really know).
I also think they were trying to give it a Half Life 2 (yeah I mean the- 2 when I say it) feeling- the whole set, the sentrys, goliath is so DOG!
I have many other parallels I can think off.
Don't get me wrong, it has it's moments, but still, such a disappointment THQ, have expected more from you. Can't believe it sold not that bad.
Just gonna keep on wating for B3..

I've seen that slow mo stuff in movies... so didMWrip off movies? I get what you're saying and slightly agree with you but seriously. There's nothing original about anything these days. MW2 ripped off a lot of stuff from KZ2, KZ2 ripped off stuff from Half Life 2, the list goes on. It's not a big deal. I say play the game for what it's worth and enjoy it, stop comparing.

Alright guys, its apparent that ALL games draw from some inspiration, but thats not the point.
Homefront in its ways is a copy paste, scenario, and engine.
Sure its not exact, but ever hear of Freedom Fighters? (When it comes to games EDIT:Just checked, its Soviet Union, my bad. Its obvious where that game got its inspiration though =P)
As for the engine, last I saw it was like a base CoD engine, even the icons were pretty much the same. They could have at least altered the HUD =V

You are wrong... Homefront uses the Unreal 3 Engine, Cod uses whatever engine IW made (which is not the Unreal 3 Engine).

Your comparissons are so weak. Like everybody else pointed out, COD copied everything else known to man.

It was a horrible rip off. It wasn't even fun.

Ok whoever thinks that when they made homefront they weren't thinking specificaly about COD at all (yeah like the most popular, successful shooter ever, wonder why specificaly that one), but were maybe thinking about doom and all the other post shooters is a complete - "something that isn't that dirty but still I can't say it on these forums".f22rf
