I have two linksys wrt54gs routers that i'd like to hook up.  I want to put one in my living room so i can hook up all my wired gear out there to the internet/my network.

Is this possible?

It should work. Your wireless devices will pick up 2 signals probably but you can tell them which to connect to. Id also suggest plugging in just one router with your wired stuff and test to see if your wireless devices still pick up the signal then youed only need one router.

I have a regular router upstairs where my familys pc is and then i have a 50ft cable running to the my wireless router downstairs for my laptop, wii, ps3, ds, and psp. I also have my 360 plugged into a port on the wireless router since Im not paying $100 for the wifi adapter. If you dont want to run a long cable Im pretty sure just one wireless router will work unless your wireless devices are a long ways away from the wired items you have then it might be a little laggy. My laptop seems to connect to the wireless router in the basement from anywhere in the house.
