Okay so I was on systemrequirementslab.com checking if i could run a few of the games I want to get soon (Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, Crysis/Warhead). It turns out I'll be able to play Left 4 Dead on High settings? Now, I have a nice computer, but not AMAZING. So are the reqs for L4D low? If so, this is a good move by valve so that anybody can play it. If anybody has any info regarding this topic post it here.

valve was never really going for a Graphic powerhouse with L4D, With 40+ Zombies at one given time it would be hard to get really High Detail Graphics, but that's what I Love about Valve games Fun/look good with low Req.

OP, your fine. Your graphics card will work really well with Valve games. Games like Far Cry 2 will also run on high settings. Later on you may want to overclock your quad core and invest into a high end graphics card, not for like another year though.

Valve seems to have realized that having high end graphics does not mean the game is going to be good. Someone in that company got a clue and figured out that strong art direction and engaging gameplay will win out over that latest visual bells and whistles.

One of the things I've always wondered is, if Valve is such a hot company how come no one seems to be adopting there successful ideas? With Left 4 Dead they seem to have built a game that looks good and plays well (hopefully) and will run on your Dad's computer.High hardware costs are one of the biggest reasons people leave the PC for the console. What Vavle seems to have done should have been a no brainer for the entire industry.

Sorry, got a little carried away there.

To answer your question its probably a move by Valve to increase their potential player base.

No problem, systematically Valve makes the best games in many areas. I think that having a bad computer with Valve is barely different than having a monster water cooled quad core with three gtx 280s. Its about the game, not about the graphics.
