How reliable are OCZ powersupplies? I'm look @ this one.

What sort of PSU would I need for a 9800x2/4870x2/4870/GTX260/GTX280 since I'll be upgrading to one of them in a month or twos time and want to make sure the PSU I buy will run it.

Too many users with those units have come back on saying that they failed within a year. And if you want to run the GTX 280 you'd be much better served with a power supply that comes with an 8-pin PEG connector.

There overall good, but they've had problems with ripple issues for awhile so thats why I recommending going with something like silverstone or crosair. They should be around the same price.

Aha thanks, should have guessed from the 8pin. So I need one with an 8pin and a 6 pin? Can't I use an adapter?

EDIT: In fact I have a 2x4pin molex to 8pin PCI adapter here. The 600w OCZ has 6 molex and I only have 3 fans. One of which has anouther molex coming out of to string up molexs.

It's just a question of how stable it is, what are those ripple things? And the corasir one is about anouther £30 for a similar wattage :\.

Too expensive for me. I'm sure it's a nice feature but cable management doesn't bother me, I don't mind my insides being a bit messy.

Idd, they are quite a bit more expensive. So if I get the 600w OCZ I should be good to go for any of the new next gen cards coming out right? And if it goes it's got a three year warrenty anwyay.

The GameXstream versions are brilliant for anyone wanting to run one high end GPU, But you'd be better off getting a Corsair or a Antec if you looking for anything with a higher power supply of 700watts simply because OCZ StealthXstream PSU's are pointless being priced the same as better PSU's from leading brands.

If your getting a OCZ PSU go for a 600w GameXstream but if its too low in power I would suggest you look else where.

your psu will be fine, don't be concerned plus ocz offers a 3 year warranty so no worries.

To get a 600w+ corsair I'm looking @ £70/£80. Seems a bit excessive just for a brand name when I can get a £50 600w.

In a power supply, brand name means a lot more than just flashy lights and a pretty label. High-end units use higher-quality components that are what make or break a power supply - they're not restricted as much by reference designs as motherboard and especially graphics card manufacturers are. If you sacrifice the modular cabling of the HX620w, you can probably find the TX650w for a few quid more than the 600w StealthXStream. And the StealthXStream doesn't feature modular cabling either.

Plus I HIGHLY doubt that the corsair VX550W cannot power something that the 600W OCZ can.
