For last 6 to 12 month I have been complaining that textures look bad in games like anisotropic filtering not working as you might no. Beginning of this month I opened up a tablet because I'm on medication for kidney transplant. Any way I opened the tablet and the tablet exploded and all powder in side went into my eyes. I rinsed them out in water but next day I went to optician. I tried docs but they didn't want to no... Any way after opticians checked they said everything was fine. She also said I would make an appointment for your eyes testing.

I went for my eyes testing about over a week ago and after the test she said I needed glasses for concentrating and watching TV etc but not to have them on all time. So after the test I ordered the glasses. I have had the glasses now for about 4 days. As soon as I put them and turned a game on I was like WOW. Textures looked like textures anisotropic filtering working and looked more 3d. I couldn't believe it all this time it was my eyes. Any way I still get the ant-aliasing problem which I do as asked other people in my house if they see it and they say yes. But at least games now are playable with looking better textures.

If your having problems with textures and think they look blur. Go and have your eyes tested. Plus they can find other stuff if anything is lurking.

. I still get the shimmering and aliasing problem

Lol, at first I thought your tablet COMPUTER exploded and I thought to myself, "what powder is he talking about...".

Anyway, it doesn't take a video game to realize your vision isn't great. If you drive or watch TV/Movies with subtitles, the lack of sharpness is very obvious.

I suppose it depends on what your eyesight problem is. I have myopia, so my glasses do nothing when PC gaming because of the distance. I only use them while gaming because they help a little with the antireflex.

If you don't see shimmering and aliasing then it means you can't see sh*t.

The latest NVidia driver helped a lot as well. Its improved games loads. I even got that debug tab in help which I haven't for last couple like they said you should. Desktop a lot smother too. But the textures are a lot to do with my eyes I still cant believe how bad they are. I take the glasses of just to see and I'm like OMG everything just looks flat. lol.

I can no longer read words that are far away, thanks to PC gaming.

It's worth it I guess.

If only glasses could increase fps, too... Anyway I'm glad games look better to you, and good luck a.

I've been looking at screens my whole life. Really shitty CRT screens, for probably the first half of it. Took an eye exam a couple of years ago and they said I likely wouldn't really need to use glasses until I'm 50+.

It's interesting that your eyes were blurry enough that you were confusing the game's graphics with your eye sight. I can't imagine what that would be like, to be honest.

Annoying as hell :P. But as said optician said it most likely be tablets (medication not computer :P) what making it a lot worse too.

Also not getting enough sleep don't help either. Moved to where I am now about a year ago and not far of some road works on a night. They are extending the motorway (freeway) about 1 mile from me and at night they close the road to work on it but the humming sound of the machines travel to where I am and cant sleep. Yes the noise is there as people in my house here it too which I'm pleased at that so its not my hearing. hehe.

Last night only got 4 hour kip and this week been worst for noise its been. Just read on the internet about the road works and it seems they have removed the protective sound barrier to block noise. People closer are really complaining to local council but nothing been done. It started in 2013 and meant to finish this season Autumn. Hope it don't continue after its killing me and I'm about 1 mile away. It cost a bomb any way to make. All there doing is making road smaller and reducing the speed limit to 50mph on the smart motorway.

my eyes are pretty good, I don't work in front of a computer screen (thank god), and that is generally the real culprit in the monitor-kills-eyes deal, 8+ hours of a white screen. I also have my monitor a good distance away from me (3 feet or so, its only a 22 inch screen) and never game in the dark.

I had good eye sight to begin with, though

My eyes are terrible. With things far away, I'm great (better than most) but up close, it's a nightmare. I can't even read a menu anymore without my reading glasses. Getting old sucks.

@skipper847: so first you get a kidney transplant and are recovering on your medication and then your tablet explodes into your face damaging your eyes? Ugh, sounds like you are going through some messed up shit. All the best.
