how bad is it having a stock cooler on my 3.2 ghz intel core i7?

yes there were times when i really had the feeling that my cpu is on heat. can this really harm or even damage my cpu? and after time my pc might get worse performance?

The only way to answer this question is to download a program that can monitor your system temps.. such as HWMonitor. Any other guessing or feelings would be speculation. Download HWMonitor and see what your temps really are.

At 3.2GHz the stock cooler should do fine. Run one of the many temperature sensor programmes out there and see what your processor hits under peak load (either by gaming or Prime95 or similar).

If your temperatures are above 80C ish, you may want to think about additional cooling.

hey guys i thought about buying cooler master v10. willi be able to set my cpu to 4.0 ghz? and will these 4.0 ghz make a big difference?

V10 is overpriced junk.

I had my i7, when I first got it, on a 3.6GHz OC for 24/7 for like 3 or 4 weeks until I got a ThermalTake TRUE 120.
