Ok guys so i got the hd 6950 i havent done the flashing thingy since ive heard a couple of users had problems with it, they seem to be having artifacts on their screen after the flashing. I just want to know like how many frames per sec i get on my games. I got medal of honor, black ops, modern warfare 2 and dirt 2. Sometimes i feel like i lag a lil bit, i dont know if it just me or am just used to play on consoles lol. I got the latest drivers. I got the amd phenom II x6 1090t, 8gb ripjaws ddr3. 1000w psu, asus m4a79t mobo, h50 corsair cooling. Let me know what can i do to get the most out of my setup without doing any crazy overclocking stuff lol. dont wanna mess up my rig since it took me mad long to get the money to buy my it.

Your gaming experience with that PC should be smoother that any console can provide.

Size has nothing to do with it. The resolution does. What resolution are you gaming at? Download Fraps and see what frames you get in those games.

That card should handle those games beautifully at that resolution.

You can get a rough estimate of what kind of performance you should be getting in games here. It shows around what you should be getting before and after OCing.

There was exactly one idiot who was all over different forums to yell he had artifacts after the flashing. Afterwards, he apologized because the artifacts came from not having upgraded his drivers. Besides, the BIOS can always be flashed back to the original... I've been benching both my flashed 6950's like crazy and never had any problems, bar the upper card getting too hot on auto fan, because the cards are sitting too close to each other on my Asus Gene µATX mainboard...

And to get the most out of your rig without overclocking (why the watercooling then?), well, just play your games...

Can't say much atm... Having too much temperature issues right now. Mainly because i moved some stuff around because of having bought a new desk. That desk's back edge covers a heating radiator of which the warmth comes from underneath the desk at the front. That warmth gets sucked into my PC case through its three front fans. On top of that, my cards have but 3mm of space between them, which makes the top card get hot. I'm talking 60°C/140°F idle (bottom one 45°C/113°F) and 85°C/185°F (bottom one 68°C/154.4°F) under stress (Unigine Heaven benchmark).

I'm first gonna move my computer (desk too, probably) away from the radiator's warmth, then get me another mainboard which has more space between the cards. Since I don't feel like spending a lot of money on an LGA1156 mobo, I think I might switch to Sandy Bridge... The mainboard I can afford right now, but not the CPU... So, I'll have to get back to you on the gaming fun with my CFX set-up after I've moved my furniture around. Is a pain up the lily-white, but still easier than ripping the radiator from the wall ;)

No, use the BIOS to OC the CPU, never software.

Agreed, don't overclock till you need to. Wait till Crysis 2 comes out. :P :D
