download a program called pinnacle game profiler. its great, although its only a 30 day trial. you have to pay to keep using it. its still really useful though.

I'm pretty sure that the regular one does work with microsofts firmware. The wireless one wont though, even with the usb attachment (I've tried). So I guess you could go to microsofts website and dl the firmware for the controller and test it. Although it wouldn't guarentee it working on every game out there.

the firmware from microsoft only works with "games for windows" liscenced games. Pinnacle Game Profiler will let you play any game you want, customize buttons, set macros to buttons, and even use the 360 controller as a mouse on your desktop.

In all honesty, Keybord mapping programs, suck, they never get the feel right, and its mostly the axis's that are off. So frist person shooters never fell right(To me atleast) I would only use a controller on a Games for windows game.

i play DMC3 with my gamepad with Pinnacle, FPS games will almost never feel right with a gamepad on a computer though. I have played CSS, ETQW, BF2142, and FEAR with a 360 controller and the only ones that felt remotely good were FEAR and BF2142.

As for the people saying "Just plug it in", you are missing the point comletely
