How come everytime I argue with console gamers, I get modded?

I don't get it, the console lovers arguments are always out of ignorance ("consoles have big TV's", so do PC's moron!), but when I retort I'm modded, why won't gamespot let me spread the truth?

I was arguing with a pc gamer about crysis 2 not having lean and he said "sounds like you dont play pc games, you can CHANGE the controls on pc"

Stop calling people moronic, stupid, ignorant, or anything else to that effect, and instead respond to them without insulting them, and you'll be set.

When you are discussing something, even on SW, you are ONLY allowed to talk about the specific topic, in no way or shape should you talk about the poster, in any negative way.

Altho it sounds really uptight, there is much reason for it, to uphold a relatively calm Forum

yeah, SOME PC gamers arguments are ingorant, ALL the console arguments are ignorant, not knowing that controllers, big HDTV's, XBLA style minigames, and low cost quality rigs are available to PC Gamers. They think their 1080p looks just like our 1920x1080, its 1080p console=stretsched 540p, hence, less clear and more jagged edges.

IF you want to get your points across, its likely better to state thingsso the post will remain. This would be things in argument for your case.

Attacking someone, insulting, etc. is never going to get your point across with the subject at hand. It will get the post moderated, and things like in the wrong thread, console/pc war thread.

I have had to rewrite my posts several times, when I see something and immediately write back. Gets annoying after awhile reading a post about a subject and several people try to change the subject to something else or against a word or two within the post.

Because in reality this is kindergarden spot, you can't use anything bad in any way.

Besides split screen, can someone give e one thing consoles can do better than PC? (price doesn't count, it doesn't equal quality, a supercar is way more expensive than an economy car, doesn't mean the economy car is better quality).

I play PS3 and XBOX 360, I have broad horizons, I just know which one is better. I'm talking about which is better and has more capability, not which one some person prefers, a person who only hears anti-PC propaganda. From a objective standpoint, PC is better. Objective excludes popularity and price, just pure technological ability and user control. And no social skills? Let me ask you this, in real life talking to some stranger, you argue a point, this is how it plays out.

-him: look guys, hermit thinks _____insert issue viewpoint____, what a lemming (no facts stated)

-you: state another fact

-him: snarky comment that is wrong (example, "yeah, well I'll just go back to my 42 inch HDTV PS3")

-you: state another fact

-him: snarky comment that is wrong

-him: more people are on my side, therefore I am right.

In real life wouldn't you say, "listen moron, shut your ignorant, self-righteous mouth, stop mocking me subtly while everything you say is a mistruth! GTFO you cocky idiot!"

If you have specific questions about why you got or get modded, you should go to the Ask the Mods board and you can get answers directly from moderators. However, you could probably answer the question yourself pretty easily by reading the Terms of Use. It is pretty obvious why you get modded.

Well, like someone said earlier, you don't know if they got modded themselves. They may have well been modded, but you just don't know. There are set rules around here. You cannot go around calling people "morons." That is rude. Again, I think that is something you might want to take up with the mods themselves in the that board, Ask the Mods.

I concur, the moderation on this site is some of the worst I've ever had the chance to see. Common sense is forsaken in the actions they take.

That said, there's little you can do other than getting used to it.

I changed my sig too, it was a direct insult to mods, lol, that couldn't help, but I made it after I was overly modded.

Fact : there are mods who have lots of PC games, more than me,

by your thoughts, they are (the mods) biased against themselves.

Also mods are not here to pick sides in a fight, they are here to put an end to the fights.

When you insult people and call them "moron" then you get modded. Keep it clean and you can debate away until you whittle your fingertips off.
