I'm not sure whether it was the zone playing tricks on me, but once when I got really close and put my ear on one of those locked bunker doors, I heard a woman scream. It makes you think, doesn't it?
I guess that all females in the zone got locked up in a basement or a bunker by some psycho, to be tortured and raped forever. So they are there. Did you ever wonder why there are so many locked up bunker entrances or manholes that you can't open? Yeah...
Men decided to go to the Zone to seek profit in artifact hunting. There are countless amounts of dangers from anomalies, radiation and mutants... no woman is stupid enough to risk her life to seek profit.

I'm comparing the lack of them with the lack of those things. I would do the same if it were only women in the game and there were no men. I was pointing out that it's simply not something big enough to even remotely qualify through even the most miniscule amount of reason as a spoiler of any kind whatsoever. Understand that I'm not comparing women to those things, I'm comparing the presence or absence of them to the presence or absence of those things. And they are equal in that none of them affect what you know about the story, setting, gameplay, or anything else key to the game. Saying things like "you can get drunk from drinking too much vodka in the game" is logically even more of a spoiler because it, while small, reveals something about a substantial aspect of the game, the gameplay, and yet no reasonable person would get wound up over the mentioning of that. Saying there are no women doesn't really tell you anything about how the actual game is in any aspect at all, so it qualifies as a spoiler no better than saying there are no whoopee cushions.

Ya, realisticly some women might try to prove themselves but I just dont see it happening. Us men are the only one stupid enough to venture into the Zone with radiation and mutants just to get a few thousand credits.

The point wasn't good. Woman are a VERY important part of any world. You see woman and man in any city or country. No matter what race, what kind of world, or if they are humans or not (unless it's a unisex kinda thing). If there is man, there is woman. Why DON'T they have woman? I can understand if the came took place in a single zone or a building but it doesn't. The game world is too large to not have thing so basic such as female counterparts.

actually the barber shops one is interesting - maybe one of the stalkers has a pair of clippers and makes some cash on the side - hey developers, build that into Clear Skies!
Well imo women are important, that game doesn't have anything beautiful. And i would get bored with interacting and watching men all the time. Would have balanced the game a bit.
Seems that many don't care and it's okay. Wasn't not my type game of anyway. Once played it for 2-3 hours, but got bored and unistalled.
And a game with open envoirement and with rpg elements, should have both generes.
Imo even lack of children in games make it less alive. (Not saying that there should be kids running around the broken nuclear plant.)

The only reason why I was asking is because games like oblivion and KOTOR and mass effect has interaction with women and children. I'm not saying the game is bad cause there's no women. I'm just saying it would've been cool if we just saw a few women and children in that area with the bar beside the fire barrels or something like that
30 km/19 mi is the size of the real zone... and the zone was said to expand a few km due to someone *Cough*prequel*Cough*... Sorry were was I was going with this...?

The developers are considering adding vehicles into multiplayer and though female characters are not officially planned, it is possible that they might appear over the course of development.

STALKER is supposed to feel dead, though. It's a dead land, and they want you to feel that. It's why a lot of people love STALKER, the way it portrays the atmosphere of a dreary, depressed, dead place really well.
