POTBS is not being made by SOE, its made by Flying Labs. SOE is only publishing the game and nothing more which has been stated by Flying Labs tons of times. POTBS has been in the works for a very long time and even though the land combat looks dry and boring the sea combat which is the main thing in the game looks extremely entertaining, complex and fun.
I dont need to assume because I know this game will fail, just look at all the games by soeanimefreeze
Actually SOE have helped make alot of MMOs survive. Vanguard is one good example where SOE didnt touch. All they did was publish the game to stores. Vanguard flopped hard and now SOE owns it. Most likely SOE is going to improve it so more people will come.
SOE does alot of publishing for small mmo developers who dont have the means or resources to publish on their own. For a small developer this is great news considering it will help improve their chances of being successful.
