How did gamespot manage to complete the game 'stalker' so quickly? did they recieve it early? becuase im guessing they had to play the entire game to review it correct?CusisMost review sites get games before their initial release, some even make reviews based on preview code... However .. I wouldn't put all my eggs into just one review, there are many other who doesn't give Gears of War a 9+ .... So go with those.

[QUOTE="BounceDK"]I reviewed hardware once, never gotten any cheat codes for those :D Software folks.. sigh :)Gog
Heh well did you wait to review the hardware until it broke to be able to comment on the lifespan?
If you mean my crappy WD hardrive, then no - I was trying something new and I'll never do it again :) No I reviewed how easy it was to install, how stable it was, components etc. Tis was all good.yep the company gave to review sites like GS to play the game couple weeks before it's release date in exchange to few good words about the game and a good score thats cool, playing a game before it is even released.[QUOTE="Cusis"]How did gamespot manage to complete the game 'stalker' so quickly? did they recieve it early? becuase im guessing they had to play the entire game to review it correct?PredatorRules

Visit the above link for the final word. They state that they typically invest 30 hrs. in a game before evaluating it. Also, they only review final code. I never heard of the cheat code thing. I'm mighty disappointed if that's true.

They only say that in the Persistent World (which I thought meant MMO) section.http://www.gamespot.com/misc/reviewguidelines.html

You don't necessary need to finish the game to review it. Also reviewers are typically given cheat codes to pass trough the game more quickly.GogThats interesting! Thanks

The cheat thing isn't true Gamespot doesn't use cheats, and neither is the "get a review copy for some nice words about the game" if that was the only way for Gamespot to get the game early they would just wait for a retail copy.http://www.gamespot.com/misc/reviewguidelines.html

It can also be a giant headache as the early builds are usually filled with bugs galore and being a beta tester is no fun until the last phase :)Â
Oh yeah that is so cheap using a cheat code.http://www.gamespot.com/misc/reviewguidelines.html
