i have vista and im running a 8800gts. everytime i run cs:S it crashes tried alot of things like reformatting, tried different drivers, tried all settings on cs:s and probably some other stuff i cnat remember on the top of my head right now. my main culprit would probably be VISTA but im just trying to try different stuff to see if it works or notb0ssy
Does HL2 work for you? (I'm pretty sure you meant Counter Strike Source)
Well technically Direct X 10 isn't backwards compatable, so the 10 and 9 APIs can be run side by side.
And you can't downgrade or uninstall Direct X 10.
What error message (if any) do you get when it crashes?)
G013M
Yea, you're right, the revamp had that effect; I guess more specifically I meant they still included the Direct3D 9 API with the newer Direct3D 10.
[QUOTE="b0ssy"]no idea i dont have HL2 i only have half life and that workslrgcjg
Do non steam engine games work for you?
not sure, i dont play any other games than source. well, before i reformatted my pc (couple days ago) i could play cs:s SOMETIMES most of the times actually, once in a while it would crash so i thought reformatting it would get rid of it, but no, it got worse
[QUOTE="b0ssy"][QUOTE="lrgcjg"][QUOTE="b0ssy"]should i try the ones that came with the cd?lrgcjg
You are already using the most up to date drivers.
What are the specs of the comp you are using?
q6600
2gb ram
p5k mobo
Have you tried verifying the cache files?
nope, didnt know that existed. gonna do this right after i finished downloading cs:s because i tried reinstalling it again, thanks!
