this happened to me to, what i did was uninstall all the drivers and unplug the usb thing and then, restart comp, then install drivers and programs b4 plugging in the usb thing, then when all the programs for the controller are installed plug in the usb thing and sync the controller to the computer making sure your xbox is unplugged cuz it can mess with the syncing process. (it ok i grammer do well, lol)Petermannc31did you install the drivers for the controller as well as the drivers for the usb adapter?
if it is your xbox 360 controller you are trying to use then it wont work you need the wireless receiver, ive tried for ages. From what i know you need to buy a receiver or to buy a wired 360 controller which works. yoyo462001
True that.....I bought a wireless receiver for 360 controllers to play Battlestaions: Midway on my PC....works good....though it takes little getting used to.
Are you using the wireless x360 controller and plugging it in with the plug n charge kit? If so, it can't work, the plug and play kit only sends a heartbeat and a basic driver. If it's a wired controller, the microsoft ones should work, if not get xbcd 360 drivers.JigglyWiggly_my xbox 360 controller works by using the play and charge kit usb cord.

Maybe controllers bundled w/ it do work but controllers that u buy the stuff separately don't
I tried everything everyone said, still not working. Tried it on 2 computers. Vista 64 bit, 32 bit, and XP. It doesn't recognize the reciever when I plug it in.alphaqup03A lot of people have been having this same problem. I myself am one of them. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to work. I've read that if you uninstall and reinstall the drivers every time you want to use it it usually works af6ter you reinstall the drivers.
