You want to OC a GTX 295? You seriously feel the lack of power from the most powerful GPU in the world?gigatrainer
The 295gtx is actually clocked about 10% lower than the 275 or the 285 gtx.
On topic I use evga presicion, its a great and very easy to use overclocking tool imo.

Dude seriously you should leave it alone. It's like one of the best Cards out right now and OC'ing it seems like overkill...plus you'll need sufficient cooling in case you do decide to ignore my advice. Consider also that if youmake a mistake and overdo/fry it the Manufacturer will void your warranty.

Not if he bought it from XFX or eVGA, both cover overclocking in their warranty.
Check out http://www.mvktech.net/ and get nibitor and reflash your bios and up the voltage to the gpu. The GTX295 features a heck of a lot of headroom in that department, by default all GTX295's use the lowest amount of voltage as possible to the core (1.05/1.04 volts). If you have replace the thermal paste on there with something good (tuniq tx-3, ocz freeze) and have a decently cooled case you can easily get it to 1.11 volts or more and overclock that sucker a lot without hurting the card (the card features OVP - over volt protection).

Its damn near impossible to FRY your card - its a warranted statement, but the card features OVP, and it will lock up and stop running long before it actually gets damaged - The last time I heard of someone frying their card while using common sense (good air flow in case, not by passing ovp, etc...) was back in the 6800 days, and that individual had a faulty card to begin with. Please Log In to post.
