I Recently bought :

Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Now my problem is that I have it in the right slots but cpu-z still is saying that it is single channel dookie.

Do I set Dual Channel option elsewhere or does it happen automatically?

I got :

BioStar GeForce 6100-MP9

AMD Athlon 64 3800+

NVidia 7600GT PCI-E 256 GDDR3

ARE you really sure you got it in the right slots?

Dual-channel should kick in automatically.

2,97 LOL... watch oout! not to fry it

anyway you need to set your ram stick in the same color spot. and then it should work.

Let me get this clear: your PC will not detect dual channel. Dual channel mean that your dimm slots are physically wired to two different channels. A channel is like a set of wires in which memory modules are plugged. You cannot activate or desactivate it, it's in the circuit board of your motherboard.

Do you see two different colors of dimm slots? Most motherboard manufacturers do this to indicate dual
channel capabilites. They will have colors that mean you should put your memory in slots that are the same color, or different colors. Your motherboard manual will tell you how to plug it.

Hi again, I searched on the biostar site and the closest model I could find is: "GEFORCE 6100-M9".

Anyway, I looked at the very unclear manual written in engrish and I understood this:

I contacted biostar like 2 in the morning about this, but in the manual it says to hook it up in two differect colored slots of Dual Channel.

Luckily it work !

CPU-Z now noticed the dual channel awsomness.

Now that I have the 2GB of dual channel What else can I do to make this box fasta?

You could get an X2 now, but I think you'll be seriously fine with a single core.  Depending on what dual core you would be willing to spend on, I suggest you wait until you actually need it which won't be a while unless you're one of those users who likes to run alot of programs at once---like me.  AMD's Quad Core desktop CPU should be available by the end of the year which will be compatible with AM2 slots, despite designed with AM3 in mind.  You do have an AM2 CPU and motherboard right?

But before I'd upgrade the CPU, I'd get a better graphics card most definetly.

AMD's quad core platform.  I can't wait for the Agenas myself and drop it on in to my AM2 motherboard.

Are there any preliminary benchmarks or maybe even estimations as to how the K10 line will stack up against the C2D series?   Because from the charts on Wiki, this new architecture is something very different with it's bloated L3 cache.
