I already have a router connected to one computer and wireless internet for two others. I just want to know how to set up a local area connection between two computers (neither of them are directly connected to a modem). I don't know much about LAN, but it seems it can be used for many different purposes. I just want to be able to play a video game between the two. Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tried going into Control Panel -> Internet Connection and Settings?

I don't know much about networking (mainly because it's a pain in the ass), but you'll have to set up a LAN through Windows (preferrable all with XP Pro w/ SP2).Â
