How do you get wireless internet for vista???

Why hello there brave youngsters.... i am quite new to vista .... I have a Lynkys wireless adapter that only works for xp and below. It would be the most chilvarous of you if you walk me through the steps on how to achieve wireless internet for my vista pc.

its probably that your router is pretty old and its drivers arent compatible with vista, i would recommend just getting a new one you can get one pretty cheap from here

Have you tried it yet? There is a good chance it would work just plug and play, but if not check out linksys.com for driver for the specific adapter.

Yup, if that doesn't work look around the net to see if anyone has hacked drivers ;)

Er... i tried looking for drivers i tried updating them to vista....but i dont know how... errr... can someone link them drivers and tell me what to do... you dont have to but i will be very generous of you

So you tried just plugging it up and it did not work? Well, in that case, can you tell me the model number of the adapter?

Does your Vista PC recognize your wireless router at all or no? If not im sure there are drivers you can get download that correspond with your router. If not, I say youre going to have to get a vista compatible router. Atleast a linksys G router is actually pretty affordable.

Yeah that is what i'm going to do...

You see when i install the cd of the wireless internet adapater Vista does not recognize the driver.....

So... You think ill just get a new used router from amazon or you tell me how to update the driver

Just try plugging in the adapter without any drivers. There is a good chance Vista will be able to use it with built in drivers. So just plug the adapter in and see if it works automatically. But if that does not work, we will need the model number of the adapter to be able to look for drivers, it should say what model it is somewhere on the unit.
