How do you lock onto a target on grand theft auto 4 pc

I usely play grand theft auto 4 pcwith a 360 controller but currentyl I dont have it and I can not figure how to lock onto a target with just the keypad

Why would you want to lock onto a target when you have mouse & keyboard controls?

I have been wondering how to not lock onto a target on the 360 version :\. I always want to just free aim my gun but it always locks onto targets in the area...very annoying.

I think when using a controller you have auto aim on the entire time, but with keyboard and mouse you can only lock onto a target with a melee weapon. Maybe you can change that in the options.

I think in the xbox version you can manually aim when you press the target button twise and hold it or something like that :D

If i recall it's either Tab or Caps Lock, not sure which one though.

Free Aim in 360: I think it works if you press gently the aim button, instead of all the way down.

On topic: I dont think it's possible. Maybe there are mods that allow it, but normally it isnt available except for melee weapons.
