Hi I live in Sweden and want to buy a game on steam, but I was wondering how the transaction works when you don't buy the game with dollars? Like how do they change the money too dollars from Swedish kronor? I don't know if anyone knows how it works but if you know a place were I might get an better answer please tell me.

I live in the UK and when I buy games off Steam I pay in Dollars with my bank card and the bank deals with the exchange rate stuff.

It's actually quite painless.

Have fun

Here you go...straight from the Steam support site:

What currency are the prices in the Steam store priced in?

All prices presented in the Steam store are in United States dollars - if you need the exact total in your country's currency, please contact your credit card issuer or bank for the current exchange rate (order totals are based upon the exchange rate at the time of purchase).

your bank will do the exchange rate conversion etc.

sometimes they will charge a small fee, depending on the bank. Best I guess to just try it out.

for me USD -> AUD I find this site http://www.xe.com/ucc/ fairly accurate in terms of the final amount I'm paying.

I thank you for the answers but it seems they were useless because I am not old enough to buy stuff online with a credit card and my parents nor my sister who is old enough wants to use their credit card, thanks for the help anyways.

Some of the prices will get adjusted to your local currency in special cases.

E.g. In Aust, CoD4 is priced at $88.50 AU, by special request by Activision. The majority of the time though, is as you've written, in American Dollars.
