How do you guys think this laptop is for gaming SAMSUNG R610-64G

I'm looking for a laptop that can play most games at good settings and won't cost me a fortune. I'm not looking for perfection because i'm completely new to pc gaming and would like a laptop that will give me a good idea whether i like it or not. if I do then i will look into purchasing a desktop in the future.

If you really want to do any pc gaming your gonna need a desktop.

1. laptops have battery power opposed to a psu which really prevents laptops from having decent 3D archetecture

2. Not as easy as a desktop to repair

3.Air Flow problems cripple laptops

4. price-performance ratio. your really not getting what you pay for with a laptop

5. good luck playing games without a real mouse

all in all you should save your money and invest in a desktop if you want to play pc games that are new.

Older games like Counter Strike and Battlefield 2142 will run pretty well on this Laptop..However, Modern Games, No I have a Laptop with a ATI counterpart to this NVIDIA card on this Laptop If You have the space for a Desktop, then save up and get a desktop. Laptops are not primary for gaming...and if they are, they cost ALOT and they will soon slip underneath requirements within a couple years. The way laptops are sold is rubbish! you cant have a even balance. Its a cruel market!

The graphics chip on the laptop (NVidia 9200M) is not intended for gaming. If you seriously want to game, use a separate desktop or buy a laptop with better graphics (9800M or 9600M is money is tight)

It;'s common practise for the TC to supply information, other posters shouldn't have to hunt for it as you're the one asking for help

Tis very true..But this forum has helped me loads so...You put in what you take out :D But back on topic, the 9200M will find is hard to handle high spec/modern games My Laptop has a ATI mobility 3450 the direct rival to that card, what puts mine above yours is i somehow found the 512mb version. If your serrious about Modern games...avoid your laptop, its harsh but unfortunately the truth.

it going to be hard for you to find a cheap laptop that runs games nicely. i am running a laptop that can run crysis on high settings ( 9800GTm, 2GB, 320GB 7200rpm) but its An Alienware and i paid nearly 3 grand for it and it only gives me about an hour of gaming (and 3 hours surfing the net when i turn off the GPU and switch to onboard graphics)
