The questions in the topic. I just ordered a ati radeon 5750 1 gig for $107, and my friends 4670 which he bought just 2 weeks ago, has been going down in preformence every day since last week. How long does and unoverclocked video card last before it degrades to a point when visible in preformence? With your average fan...

Your friend's doing it wrong somehow. Graphics cards dont just "degrade" over weeks' time...Most of the time, after about 3-5 years, the fan will die, however, and by the time you notice it, it probably overheated and went bad.

It should NEVER lose performance in the same apps. There must be something else wrong with his system, or he has a faulty card.

Yeah, I'll echo the 'shouldn't degrade.' At least not slowly, When a video card loses performance, it loses it all at once.
