How frightening is Metro 2033?

I have a mild fear of terrifying games (not about monsters, but the general atmospheres) and am mildly sensitive to suddenly flashing lights and other effects that people use to enhance the "terror" so to speak.

No I'm not epileptic, but was wondering is this game more of a thriller?

Try Dead Space . It's not so scary :twisted: . Actually , it is . I stopped playing for that exact reason .

After completing dead space on hard, nothing is scary XD

I feel that Metro is barely scary compared to FEAR or Dead space.

Try playing Dead Space , alone , with all the lights out , and your headphones on >at midnight< .

Is Metro 2033 any different from Stalker besides the open world setting?
