Everything seems really good except possibly the graphics card. From what I read online it looks like it will run a fair amount of stuff, but it's a simplified integrated chip and apparently there are some issues. So, to answer your question... I think you'd need to try out a few games and see how it works... but getting an nVidia or Radeon card is probably always a better bet. The article I read actually said that the intel Graphics Media Accelerators were on economic laptops... It claims to be DirectX 10 compatible... so that's always good.
Try Quake 4. If you can run Q4 okay, you should be able to run everything up to 2006 and most 2007 games pretty well.
The most cutting-edge 2007 game is Crysis.
But with an Intel graphics card (integrated, I assume?), I imagine you won't be able to run either of the above two.
If you have the opportunity to upgrade your graphics card, the 8800 line is a good place to look.
ive played a few older games on it they have worked a charm. Any demos i should try to test the system?sweeten16
I would just say that before you buy a game try to download and play the demo of it to ensure it works, or if there is not demo for the game in question, get a game that has the same or similar requirements and try that out. I'm not really sure what game you're trying to run.
But to answer your question, "How good are these stats?"... well, I bought a top of the line desktop computer about 2.5 years ago and it is good enough to play top of the line games like Doom 3, Oblivion, Thief: Deadly Shadows, all on medium to low graphic quality settings. My processor is crappier than yours I believe. You have twice as much RAM as me, hard drive space makes little difference, but my graphics card is nVidia. nVidia will have less compatibility problems than the discount card you have, but I think yours is actually faster and has more memory on it than mine.
Your computer is a laptop right? Laptops aren't great for gaming cause when it comes time to upgrade... a desktop you can add/remove stuff... laptop you're done.
Oh and technically I think this question belongs in the hardware forum, so we better say something about PC games so this thread doesn't get locked.
Hey, how about that Age of Conan game. Looks pretty sweet eh? Way better than WoW...
