Wanting to be able to play ALL new games on max is an unrealistic expectation. At some point you'll have to learn how to make certain compromises if you want the best balance in image quality and FPS. However, if you get a GTX 260 core 216 you should be able to max out most games currently.

Whats the point of using that? With those specs he will obviously pass for ever game (I pass recomended for every game with a c2q and a 9800gtx) it wont tell him if he can max it. But you will be able to max pretty much anything but Crysis but Crysis will look amazing anyway.
