Here are my specs.

Processor and Memory:
IntelĀ® Core™ i5-2410M processor, 2.3 GHz
3 MB L3 Cache
4 GB DDR3 SDRAM

15.6-in. LED HD display (1366 x 768)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics, 1 GB
Audio:
2 built-in JBL stereo speakers (1.5 W)
External ports: Line-out (speakers/headphone), microphone

Operating System:
MicrosoftĀ® WindowsĀ® 7 Home Premium 64-bit version.

I'm getting horrible framerate with the laptop, and it seems a pretty decent machine.

Is it just a bad laptop or something? Or poor optimization.

Mediocre, for a laptop. What game are you getting poor framerate in?

Are you by any chance using a Lenovo Y570?

The GT555M in that laptop is severely striped down: 96 cores vs the 144 in a real GT555M.

If you're not using a Lenovo, you should be getting decent framerates.

I am using a Lenovo Y570. Is this still bad? How good framerates should I get for most games?

I don't know any specific benchmarks, all I know is that it is severely stripped down and is more of an overglorified GT 525M.

That sucks. Does anyone know benchmarks for my type of video card?

Yeah, I almost bought that laptop too until I read that... As for benchmarks, not really, it's a unique card.
