hello guyz. I have core 2 quad q9650 3.0ghz. With 8gb ddr2 ram. 500hdd with 475 psu and nvidia gts 450 1gb dedicated memory. I want to know how much fps will i get at different settings in gta v.please reply asap because i want to buy that game!
I have a similar processors (Q6600) with similar specs except with an older GPU (HD 4850) as one of my HTPC. To put it bluntly, this is not a good enough system to run GTA V. I would recommend building an entire system from the ground up. The only good option I can think of is try upgrading your GPU to something like a RX 470 (which may allow you to play at higher settings, or get a used HD 7870) which may allow you to play it at mid to low settings. But honestly, GTA V is CPU heavy, and that's a 10 year old CPU. Ideally you would try to get the best GPU you can afford so RX 480 seems like the best GPU you can get for less than $250.
With your current setup you 'may' be able to run it at LOW Settings @720P but I wouldn't consider that a pleasurable experience.

Your computer isn't far off from my 2013 laptop which has an i5 3230m and a GTX 660m. I would say the C2Q9650 has the slight edge over the i5 3230m while the GTX 660m (equivalent to an HD 5770) has the slight edge over the GTS 450.
You can play GTA 5 with either DX11 or DX10. My 14" laptop has a resolution of 1366x768 and GTA was playable enough with medium settings.
If you play GTA V at 720p, I think it's playable enough at Medium or High. Any higher resolution and you're pushing it.
My laptop screens GTA V and other games:
@jun_aka_pekto: I just got 2x Xeon E5345 2.33ghz quad core processors from a friend and they are almost new. I am planing to get hp xw6400 workstation. The money I will save from cpu will be put into rams. How good is this one
Dual xeon E5345 2.33ghz quad core(octacore)
16gb ddr2 ram
500gb hdd
Gts 450 or tell me any good gpu that is alternate to gts450 and in considerable amount of money?
How much fps will I get from this setup!

I have no experience with Xeons. So, I can't tell you how those will perform. The GTS 450 will still limit you to 720p. It's even older than the HD 5770.
Thanks to everone for replying! I found this video on youtube take a look. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4LzGkvf_RWY
I can't read the comments. But, I take it the framerates are in the 30's to 50's range. That's about close to what I was getting with my old laptop. The detail settings look lower than what I had mine set to. It looks like the screen resolution was set to 1080p. I guess it could be done if the detail was set low enough.
@kualx: what exactly would be the game that would make me like VR? im sure i will like it but just not worth all the hassle and money to me so its a preference thing
And how is amd for gaming. Please tell me some good processors of amd for gaming equivalent to intel quad core?
You're probably better off sticking with Intel unless you plan on buying an AMD Ryzen CPU. I have an FX-8350 that is paired with a 6 GB GTX 1060. Although it remains mostly above 60 fps and often exceeding 100 fps, there are some spots where the framerates drop to the 30's.
