How Hard is building a pc when you first started? Its my first time =/

well, i thought of saving my dad, who's playing for this, some money
so i thought building a pc would save money
i've upgraded some pc part but never built a pc from scratch

IM REALLY SCARED!!

i hope i dont break it and lose my 1000$ budget

hope you guys can help my see if i can build a pc

video card: EVGA 512-P2-N757-TR GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Parts are alright, I personally would change the motherboard into a Gigabyte P35, and like hacker said, a 3850 has much better performance than a 8600gt. I built my own computer about 2 weeks ago, and I'd say it wasn't that hard at all, you just needed to read the manuals, especially the ones that come with your motherboard. If you're afraid of damaging your PC Parts, you could wear an anti-static wrist strap just in case.

I would say the only problem I had with building my PC was cable management. It's not very well organised. :p

For now I need a motherboard with onboard audio. Does the Gigabyte P35 have onboard audio? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059

It says "8 channels" but it doesn't say Realtek onboard audio or anything.

The second one has an option for SLI in the future and is less than 10$ more. What's your guys thoughts?

I take it you are using a 64 bit operating system? 4gb of ram won't work on a 32 bit op/sys.homebrew197516

It WILL work it just wont "see" all the ram. It will only use 3.0-3.5gb depending on your other parts.

Nope. Your computer is essentially "outdated" Everytime something new comes out, which is about every 6 months in the computer world.However, those parts you listed will last a few years just fine. Maybe even longer if you make the right upgrades here and there. For a MOBO, if youre still looking for one, a Gigabyte P35 board (GA-P35-DS**) All work great for your needs. As I'm going to assume you're a minor and won't have enough money for SLI (So am I), there is no point buying an SLI board. Once you have enough money to buy a second card of the same type, a new generation of cards will come out and one of those cards will outperform two older cards in SLI.
