What kind of foods do you eat, and how much?
Mostly healthy stuff. I'm sure fanatical health freaks would still lambast me, but I still eat fruit, vegetables, whole wheat bread only, various meats, protein shakes, drink never less than a quarter gallon of water, etc. almost everyday, and the worst I have as far as junk food are the occasional small snack of Cheez-its, four or five Chips Ahoy cookies every other day, usually one 12 oz. Stewart's soda pop each day (caffeine-free, high-quality and expensive soda brand [delicious as hell, though]), and rarely a bowl of ice cream (365 health food brand) for desert. That's pretty much it. I almost never eat fast food (makes me feel yucky), hardly ever drink coffee (last ditch effort to stay awake), generally don't eat any takeout more often than once or twice a month, never eat "candy cereal." I'm 6'2", and I used to weigh 255 lb. at one point, but today I weigh 185. I've learned my lesson about eating too much of the wrong stuff.
Oh yeah, as for how much I eat? Less than most people, I think. I never did have a big appetite (even when I was overweight, it was solely because I ate too much junk and didn't exercise nearly enough), have never been one to stuff myself at Thanksgiving and all that (I hate feeling stuffed and bloated, don't know how some people can do it and enjoy it, it's nothing but discomfort).
Do you think PC gaming influences your eating habbits?
Hmm. Yes. Admittedly, I will occasionally get kind of addicted to a game and won't eat right away when I'm hungry, or don't want to part with the game long enough to make a substantial meal. But that's not very often, and it doesn't do too much to me since I eat enough healthy foods and drink enough water to compensate for it.
Is PC gaming occupying time you may otherwise spend doing more healthier things, like sports or passive exercise?
Heh. Ah, once again we come back to the game addiction thing. Well, I never was a sports enthusiast. But,yes, sometimes I'll get wrapped up in a game too much to get off and do my push-ups, sit-ups, or read a book I'm occupied with, or whatever. I keep telling myself at those times that I need to take a break, I've been playing for three and a half hours for ****'s sake, get up and do something, go finish that chapter you've been putting off or something, oh hell no, you're not even paying attention to me, come on, listen to me, you dumb bastard! Then I go "Wha? You say something? Sorry, I was busy having the time of my life with this game just now..."
Do you think playing PC games has in some way made you more apathetic about your appearance or physical well-being?
Pretty much summed up above. Yeah, a bit, but it doesn't ruin my fitness. I'm a martial artist, so I know how to and need to stay a little fit most times. As a deputy black belt in Tae Kwon Do, I'm obligated to keep my physical condition up a bit to be able to set an example to the younger students and to be able to help my master out.
Plus, I have a job working in a shop that builds booths to trade shows, where companies show their products off to consumers at conventions (similar to how game companies show off their games in their booths at E3, companies like what I work for have to be contracted to build that stuff). There's plenty of hauling plywood and plexiglass around, constant walking around and movement of your body that keeps your muscles working during various other tasks. When clients pay extra to have their booth set up in the shop so they can see it before it gets shipped out, we have to carry around and very carefully put together large, heavy wall panels, get on sixteen-foot ladders or higher and walk 100+ lb. logo signs up to a God-forsaken, 20-something feet-high point with one or two other workers... Anyway, you get the point, my job helps keep me fit.
