I am about to buy a new graphics card (Radeon HD4870 1GB). However i only have an E4500 core 2 duo @2.2GHz. I have 2GB of RAM and my circuit board is listed below. Is this enough to play all up coming games? Should i buy a new processor or overclock? If overclock what heat sync? What speed would be enough to play all upcoming games?

Board: ECS G33T_M 1.0
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 080014 04/19/2007

First thing first, what brand is your computer? Is it a compaq or hp or dell? If it is, then you cannot overclock. If that is the case, invest into a nvidia 9800gt, it will work much better with your processor. If you can overclock, then all you need to do is put your Front side bus to about 300. You might also want to lower your cpu voltage to 1.325. Then buy the hd 4870, the 1gb version is useless if you do not have a 24" monitor or bigger.

It looks like you might be able to overclock. Go to the ECS website, look up your motherboard, and update your bios to the latest version. This cpu cooler is your best bet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835887011

Incorrect, I have a Dell XPS 420 with a locked mainboard. All it took was a single piece of electrical tape to get my Q6600 running at 3 GHz. To answer the original Q it really depends on the game. Some games are more bound to the CPU than the GPU or vice versa.

If you have a 1066 MHz processor you can use a "BSEL mod" to get the processor to run at 1333 MHz FSB. On the Q6600 this is as simple as placing a piece of electrical tape over a single pin.

Cool, but the op has an 800 mhz fsb processor.

So search Google for "bsel mod e4500", you'll find instructions for moding the E4500. The first hit I got had instructions for getting the thing close to 3 GHz. TBH though I was only posting saying that you were incorrect when you said you can't overclock a CPU on a locked mainboard.
