How important is a low steam id for CS to you?

I have a 5 digit steam id and it seems to be important to other people, but it really isn't that important to me... (pm me ;))

Is a lower steam ID saying like, "I was hear first before you!" kinda thing? I never payed attention to it.ElArab

Yeah, the steam id is based on when you downloaded it. Some people that compete in leagues find them very important as a status symbol I guess.

WOW, it says I signed up in 03, makes sense, but yeah, WOW, I've had steam for a long time, I didn't expect to have that big of a number! You must have been playing since the "Counter Strike 1.1" days, y'know, when it was on a CD lol, although, I do think I had to re-create my account one time, not sure.

If you are in the server type "status" in your console and hit enter. it should look like STEAM_0:1:15241513512345125124... the 15241513512345125124 would be your steam id. To open the console hit the ~ key.

And a lot of people are really not smart with money.

I never really understood it... I played CS from beta 1 up til about 1.0 or so, so I never signed up for Steam until Half-Life 2 came out and I have a 7 digit.

If it's all about "old school" then I'll find my WON ID ;)

A low SteamID is considered to be (in the css community) a symbol of good skill. Tho not always true, its often that 6-Digis and less kick my ass :PThe_PC_Gamer

I'm set i've got a 3digit id, but sadly i'm not good at cs :( but i know lots of people who are. And I make them laugh/cry so it all works out :DBigD

That cant be yours, Did you type status in console during a game? because the max steam ID is an 8 digit.

I have a low 7 and a low 8. I dont play on my low 7 anymore since my brother cheated and It got banned. I'm pretty horrible at CS so I don't think much of digits.
