Hi guys just wondering if any of you guys bought the game? Is it really different from the Sims 3 such that it's worth buying a copy?

My GF is a Sims-Maniac. She has played all of them (including expansion) EXTENSIVELY since The Sims 1. She says it is very different from Classic Sims, although it's still Sims. She loves it. Says the changes are great and a breath of fresh air. Personally I haven't played it cause Sims bores me, but I can say the engine is much more optimized than Sims 3.

Lego Star Wars 3 is a few months away isn't it? Both are very light hearted games..... although Sims Medieval would be more complex (it has inventory system, emotions, quests etc). You could also try TRINE for a light hearted game.

I didnt like it. Is the most linear game I ever saw. The other sims games allows you to dowhatever you want at the time you want. In this game if you do anything different you are seriously penalized.

To be honest I'm not getting into it yet. Then again I have bought several Sims games and never got into them. :/ I do like the setting though there is no freedom compare to the other sims.

I made an evil vampire like dude but I am still given quests such as 'Make good relations with other factions' and 'Discuss how to help the kingdom with advisors', etc.

I think big time sims fans will like it though.

Just a small problem my girlfriend has had with The Sims Medieval. She has been following the quests but also enjoying her role as Monarch of her Kingdom (the Monarch has married the Knight and had children). However after having the first child he appeared invisible for a long period of time (even though the sim icon showed where he was in the Kingdom, and then she still appears as pregnant. She is trying to currently complete a quest requiring her to drink a wine but as it says she is still pregnant she cannot. Has anyone else heard of some issues with Sims Medieval and know if these are fixed by patch updates. Also, is there any way around this. I haven't updated to version 1.1 yet. Does it keep the saves? Thanks for the help.

wow there's a patch out already that's fast! I think the saves should be kept even if you update the game...that was the case for the previous sims games. But I'm not 100% sure haha

The problem is that there isn't really a free play mode. You always have to have an active quest to be working towards, and once the quests are done it's game over and you have to start again. It would be so much better if it just let you take control of who you wanted, when you wanted, and live out their day to day lives.
