How is this possible? Antec 900 to HAF 922 with no temp drops?

I transfered my PC from my Antec 900 to my HAF 922 case and my comp is still running just as hot idle... even hotter than the antec 900 under load. In the Antec 900 i was idling all cores at around 38-45 and my gpu was about 55-65. In the HAF 922 my cores still remain in the 40's and my GPU is still hovering around 60 degrees.

I hoped onto League of Legends and my GPU quickly rose to 100 degrees. Seriously how is this at all possible? The HAF 922 is supposed to be amazing with cooling (hence the name even!). Not to mention that the HAF 922 gave me much more freedom in cable management. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I have 2 yate loon fans drawing air in through the side but it seems to be doing nothing. Theyre is also a slot for a fan on the bottom but I dont know wheter this is to draw air in or out.

Please give me some ideas/help as to whats going on... thanks!

Well something is seriously wrong if it jumps to 100 C. Try cleaning the card... if you really think its the case install the 200mm side fan on the HAF 922... I have a 932 and this thing cools like a beast. I very much doubt its the case... turn up the fan on the graphics(infact make sure its running) and clean it.

Give your heatsinks a good clean out. How old is your CPU and GPU?

I think something may have occurred when you transferred it from case to case. It may be caused by either a dead GPU fan, or dislodging the heatsink from the core by moving it (thermal paste may have dried to a point that it's powder-y and prone to crack).

Otherwise, I don't know what else could've happened. But you shouldn't be seeing temperatures go that high.

from the sounds of it it is one of 2 problems first you need to clean all your heatsinks and blow them out to get rid of dust or you have a bad fan somewere or if you did mess with the heatsinks moved em around or twisted em may have messed up the thermal compound if its old

I'd say he needs to change his paste, which is why I wanted to know how old they were.

the Core 2 Quad was purchased in the summer of 2007 either july or august. i have always figured that the stock heatsink and old thermal paste is causing the temp problems so ill probably replace it soon. i just cleaned the heat sink and gpu fans with compressed air and now my gpu is about 15 degrees cooler idle and the cores are a couple degrees lower. the 4850 was purchased in summer 2008 and was one of the original lineup made by ATI for other 3rd party companies which lots of people had temp problems with back in the day. i noticed that the thermal paste on the GPU is melting or something because a grease like substance is starting to appear under the fan (may have been impeding spinning or something). cleaned it up though so it should be alright.

Tbh, you should change the paste on both CPU and GPU asap.

the case is the last variable that will change ur temps. ur not going to get a huge change in temps just by the case, in fact as long as you have some outake fans thats all you really need.

the intake fans bring in air but dont drop the temps, what you should be looking at is the actual heatsinks on the parts, those are whats holding you down
