So it will power an 8800 GTS! What about an 8800 GTX?

It does have 2 PCI-E connectors

I'll prove it. That is the website of the manufacturer

Ouch... Coolmax, you want to avoid that brand. Stick to all-time good brand PSU's to guarantee stable power for your equipment. Brands like OCZ, PCP&C, Seasonic (and it's spec'd) Corsair PSU's, Zippy or Enermax.

Theoritically it does meet up to the 8800 GTS requirements. However most of us here would strongly advise you to spend a little more for a quality power supply than risking on a cheap PSU that may damage your hardware components.

Muskin is not a good brand for PSU only memory, Xclio new and very good.  the people are recommending very hard core psu's.  this one is good

are there any PSUs out there that are good for a single 8800 GTS, or maybe an 8800 GTX that are going for less than 65 dollars?

I found one on Tiger direct, but It is from Ultra, and Im not too sure if it has active PFC.

any info on MSI brand PSUs?

Nope, for $65, you won't find anything that is going to be good for a GPU with that power demand and price. You really never want to go cheap on a PSU, especially if you first spend all that money on such a GPU.

ok i u have a single 8800GTS or GTX, 1 gb or 2 gb ram, 1 hd, 2 drives.   go with this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153028

all these peole that are recommending Corsair, its to much but its really good for future stuff. but if u mean to stick with the 8800GTs or GTX(single). a single quality psu with 460 watts would be enough to run it.  iam getting a Xclio cause my system does have a whole lot in it plus their good reviews. ppl on Newegg arent buying them for nothing and giving them good reviews

Some people said they were able to power 2 7950 GT cards with a PSU that cost about 60 dollars

Did I ask this before? Im not too sure, but Is Ultra a good Brand?

I found this Power supply off of Tigerdirect.com It has 500 watts, and 34 amps on the 12V rails, and has Active PFC

Is there a way for me to find the effiiciency on this thing?

I just found the efficiency to be 73% at peak load. Does this mean that instead of 34 amps, it is only 24.82 amps?

I do not feel liek sharing my experience, but I will tell you my experience, I have an old p4 @ 4.2 ghz from 3.6. I kept pushing my system to its limits... Eventually i started smelling smoke, had no idea what it was... Kept gaming, stopped gaming... started playing sonic 3 on my pc... Next thing happened it crashed. I opened my pc, it didnt appear anything was wrng. I turned it on, all the fans just kept spinning but nothing happened. Eventualyl I pulled the 4 pin power to the cpu, all i saw was smoke debris, and melted pins... It has no active pfc STAY AWAY FROM HIPER! Oh yeah thermaltake is good, only for their toughpower tho.

Should I only buy PSUs with active PFC?

i got a antec truepower trio 430W with 3 12v with 16a on each one, max output:32A(384W) at 85% efficiency, so 384x.85/12=27.2amps would that be enough for a 8800GT? i read of people having a 8800GT on a 380W power
