Okay, so I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS card in my ultra-new laptop, and I've been playing RunesCape (The online game) for a few weeks (not exactly an ardous task for the card). How long will the card last with an average graphics game? Also, if my screen is starting to get faint black lines crawling up the screen, what does that mean? Is the card dying?

Last of all, does a Blu-Ray disc or DVD use the graphics card while playing?

your graphics card already is significantly under powered for the average game. it was underpowered when it was first created, and underpowered when it was on the drawing board

No, that is a complicated topic. But for graphics cards you dont judge power based on the first number, you judge by the second number for the power rating. Usually the highest is an 8 such as the 9800gtx. You have a 2 in the 9200gs, which is also an intergrated adapter meaning it uses its processing power by taking it from the cpu, and the memory from the ram. your 9200gs could be out powered by a 7300LE. But the thing about you having lines on your screen is not good, but may be from a bad monitor more likely.

Its underpowered cause this card/chip was not designed for gaming. It was designed for video playback of Blu-ray/high def stuff, photos and crap like that. More for the use of like a home entertainment PC I think.

Video decoding relies mainly on the CPU. That video chipset is supposed to have some built-in hardware decoding to assist the CPU with that task.

runescape wouldn't even need to use your graphics card to play it, hense it's very very low graphics. and blu-ray does abit re the dvd (which isn't very much) so a very long time. But since i play games ALL the time (hardcore graphics, full reso, etc) and i have a bad card which JUST runs bioshock, mine only lasted 2 years.
