So i was looking on system requirements and i ran a test on STALKER and Age of Conan and it says;
Recommended: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400/AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

I start to panic so i check other games and theres one that says recommended 2.4 GHZ and i have completly panic
due to the fact i am getting an E4400 2.0GHZ processor; i then before typing this thread up i was on the "PC games" board on gamespot
and theres a title saying "The Official Crysis Specs! LOL :P" and of course Minimum;2.4GHZ processor or Meduim/High 3.0GHZ.

So i have created this thread to find out how long will the E4400 last? also maybe stlabs arent 100%?
and is it easy to overclock but it can not be damaged? (say it will take me like 30-1hour to overclock trying different settings
or what ever you do but its 110% it cant overheart or brake?) if i can overclock is there maybe a site that says try these settings
dont try above these settings unless you have xxxx?

As you can see i have panic and i need to know because its driving me crazy!

Heres info on want i am oldering;
E4400
GA-P35-DS3R
G.SKILL 2GB 240pin DDR2 SDRAM 800 (PC26400)
CORSAIR 520HX
SAPPHIRE x1950xt
APEVIA X-CRUISER

I am planning to update next year anywhere between January-April. (CPU and GPU)

EDIT; I took a look on the thread in this board called "what processor do you have" one person says they ARE getting it it would be nice for anyone who has it to tell me what they think, if they have overclock it and what games theres play?

first replace that g.skill ram with a crucial ballistix, second at least go with a e6420. if u get that processor u might reach 3.0ghz.

I have the same mobo and CPU. You can overclock 3.0+ without aftermarket cooling. Its highly unlikely any damage will occur. In the event of overheating your computer will turn off to prevent damage.

At the very least oc to 2.4-2.6. Don't blow your money.

Edit: Oh, if you don't plan on overclocking DO NOT buy the e4XXX series. Most people buy these to intentionally oc.

The E4400 will last you a good while, I was going to overclock mine but I changed my mind. Q6600 only $300USD, probably $250USD when the next chips are here... so don't sweat it. I intend to run Crysis on this chip @ max settings... so yeah...

Don't worry, Crysis and Stalker will run great on that CPU, and the next release games for one year at last. The most important is the GPU

lol, I'm getting almost the exact some computer today. As for the CPU, if you read the reviews many people can overclock it to around 3.6 GHz (4 for the E4300).
