It is old. For gaming you will be able to use it for year or two. 4/10 at best. Overclocking is possible but it will not help much.

I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 and I know its terrible but how will that run if it's OCed. Or should I just get an upgrade? But what will be a waste of money since my CPU isn't all that great?

OCing you GPU or CPU wont do you much help. You may have a 2 to 3 frames more in games.

Well you could get a new graphic card like 7800gs or 8800gt (you need a motherboard with pci-e 16x) now, and upgrade rest of your PC later.

I couldn't find a 7600gs on NewEgg and there are many different types of 8800gt's. I'm sorry I'm new to the whole gaming PC thing. I bought this piece of crap a while back from a computer swapmeet and thought it was good but the guy ripped me off

How will I know my mobo will be compatible with the card? I'm not sure what mobo I have and I dont know how to check it. And if I upgrade CPU in the near future, how will I know it's compatible?

EVEREST. It will tell you all you need about your PC.

You need to have a pci-e to plug it!

Run everest.

Look at your motherboard.

i have no idea what pci-e is lol. I know it has PCI slots. There are 2 empty ones and the 6200 is plugged into an AGP slot I think.

Get cpu-z and look at the mainboard tab. That will tell you for sure.

EVEREST > motherbard > motherboard > motherboard physical info > expansion slots.

pci-e is a slot where you plug in your graphic card. Motherboards can have AGP or PCI-E slots, but they are different and cards cant go on both. If you have a AGP write in google something like this newegg graphic agp. I cant help you out more now coz i have to go for few hours. To sleep.

Good luck.

well since my CPU isnt that great, maybe I should just upgrade the mobo, and cpu so that I can get a mobo with pci-e. then at that point I should just get a new rig from scratch and salvage like the dvd-rom and the ram. But the ram is only 1 gb 533. I have no idea what that is but i'm pretty sure the bigger number of 1066 is a lot better so maybe that shouldn't even be salvaged.
