IfI upgrade my pc from a radeon X1600 to an Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB, and upgrade my RAM from 1GB DDR, to 2GB DDR2. Whilst still keeping my Core 2 Duo at 2x 3.4ghz, how long do you think it'll be before I have to upgrade again?

Also, what if I did the same, but using an 8800 GTX graphics card?

I figured on two years for my GTS, before I have to upgrade. It really depends on how much eye candy you like, whilst gaming. :)

Ooohhh, not bad at all. I mean, I like good quality graphics - but it doesnt have to be totally maxed. But im not bothered about DX10 or HD/High res gaming, regular monitor 1024x768 does me fine. Would I need to upgrade my PSU beyond the 450W it already is though?

You could probably squeek by with a 450Watt PSU, if it's a decent brand. It really depends on what other hardware you have. Here's a PSU calculator.

Add in your hardware and the vid card you want. It will do the math for ya... 8)

It depends on the quality of the PSU you have now. A good 450w can power a GTS just fine. Do you have a link to yours?

And at 10*x7* you should be fine for a good 2-3 years, but there is no way to know for sure.

It will last 2 years at high settings. If your PSU has at least 25A on +12V rail then is ok
