I only buy the games that NEED Steam to run (Half Life for example). Other than that, I like my box/DVD case on my shelf so I buy retail.Just wondering.. when im old enough to drive ill buy box games again.. i have about 20 box games on pc.. im going to get Halo 2 and GTA IV for christmas.. those 2 i would like to own the discs
Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead and FEAR 2 - none of which I've actually bought from Steam, they only require activation through Steam. Oh also CS:S I think, it came with HL2. Unless that counts, I've bought ZERO games from Steam.
In the unlikely event that I buy something as DD, I want it to be completely DRM free or no deal. I've only ever bought two games through DD, and those are UnReal World (indie Finnish survival-RPG) and Mount & Blade beta.
About 7 or 8. I only in the last year started buying games on steam vs hard-copy. And as long as there's the dl option I will never ever go back to buying hard copies. I mean hard-copies just take up too much space and you have to insert the disc every time you want to play the game, well on some games. But yeah DD FTW! I see no reason at all why everyone shouldn't be buying off steam or any other download site. Download speeds are fast enough now to make dd the standard.
