I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you didn't preorder and aren't part of the headstart, you're not going to be able to play until the 18th @12:01 AM EDT.
I pre-ordered a bit back..so I was able to start playing today (SE headstart.)
Have a level 12 Archmage on Volkmar. Been pretty smooth so far, but I had to sit through a 20 minute queue to log-in this evening >_>
I started this morning too but I'm not anywhere near level 12. I'm still feeling my way around and figuring out which classes I like. I have a slew of level 5's but I'm still undecided on which one I want to use for my "main". It's been a fun but very long day. Speaking of which, I really need to get to bed.
I ain't it just seems to similar to WoW a game that I don't really love.wackys
Yeah. I do like WAR... the PvP system might be better than WoW, but I really don't see enough to justify quitting WoW. With Wrath of the Lich King coming out I've been getting prepared for that. People complain about WoW's grinding and raiding endgame. But really, what is there to do in WAR at end game? We don't really know, other than RvR and sieges. While that is fun, you can only do that so much before it starts getting stale. Not saying WoW's end game is better by any means, I'm just saying that I don't think WAR is going to be some Holy Grail of MMO's.
I think the problem with most MMO's that are coming out is that they are too narrowly focused. It seems they either are about PvE raiding, or PvP raiding.
In SWG...BEFORE SOE destroyed it, there were very many different things to do in that game. Hell there were professions that didn't even involve fighting, period.
I'd like to see a more well rounded MMO that provided more social aspects and incentives. I'd like to see things like being a businessman and setting up a player run shop, politics where you can become elected to some position. I realize that isn't really suited to Warcraft or Warhammer as those games are pretty much all about killing, but it just seems that every MMO follows that path, and doesn't really use an imagination.
I pre-ordered, so I've been playing since yesterday. I made my first early access character yesterday before heading to work. Was almost late getting there. lol.
I'm completely burnt out on WoW right now, and enjoying WAR quite a bit at the moment. If the fun holds up over the course of the next month or so, I probably won't look back. Even though I'm generally not into PvP, I'm really liking it in WAR. It helps that you can join scenarios right off the bat, and your level scales so higher level folks don't completely dominate you. The public quests are a blast, and a nice change of pace from instance runs.
