I'll definitely be buying it, I love buying new graphics cards. Will ebay my 285 as soon as it's relaesed and put the money towards it.
Well since I'm about to build a new computer, I'll probably stick with a GTX 275 for now and then upgrade to a 300 series card next summer or something after seeing if it's really worth it and everything.
[QUOTE="cs45F"]why didn't you wait to get a gtx 285? Funny enough i got it from a friend who did buy a 285 i got it for around $180 so it was worth it in the long run. After it comes out ill wait and see if there's any real need to get a 300 series card if not ill stay with my GTX 280 if it is a good idea and a real need for it ill ebay my current card and buy the new one.

lol no such thing as overkill it all comes down to how its priced, i remember when i had 2GB of RAM back 2years before vista was out and people said it was overkill to have 2GB of RAM when we have games such as crysis, if we can have a single GPU be able to do what a TRI SLi GTX285 can do with crysis.... that is no overkill buddyi have a feeling that the new cards (and heck even the current ones) will be overkill. dosnt seem nessecery to me.

I'm going to wait and see which card has the best performance for the money between Nvidia and AMD/ATI.
Im thinking of building a new PC come October/november time. Currently have a Core 2 Duo e6600, 8800GTX and 4 Gig DDR2 (Only shows 3.5 as on XP pro still)
With Windows 7 coming out and possible the new Geforce 300 series out this year seems the right time to build a new PC.
well i will be getting either an ATI 5xxx or a gtx 300 after they release their midrange game cards ( since they first release their high end cards and the midrange offers follow a fea months down the line).
I'm stuck with an old trusty 8800gt for more than 1,5 years and i need a good reasin for upgrade and DX11+win7+dx11 games like dirt 2 are a reason
