It's my favorite game of the 2010. No really.
Animations suck. But the game looks very good . The maps are huge and filled with dungeons, items, quests, secrets, fun NPC's. It's why I love RPG's in the first place.
The music is awesome too!
Nice to see you're enjoying it.
It's not so bad, you stick a CD key during/after (I forgot) the install. You can also revoke the registration so that you maintain your 5 install limit. A few in the Lirian and Steam forums are saying that they may remove the Securom all together, but I don't know if that's confirmed.I'll give it a chance when they take off the DRM on it.

i just cant stand the corpse disappearing after 2 seconds and the wierd floaty loot bag over enemy corpse
it really takes away the immersion, and i think thats the most important factor when playing an rpg
of course if there are mods or ways to disable this, i will happily give it another go,
but i dont undersntand why are the developers doing this in the first place??????????????
No, i haven't. I watched the trailer on steam and it looked pretty good. It had awesome dragon combat and a good setting. Then i went on youtube and watched actual gameplay. It looked almost exactly like Risen, Gothic, and Two Worlds. I have respect for these developers for trying, but they have all made action RPGs that have no interesting story, uninteresting combat, a world that tries to be interesting but isn't, poor voice acting, dungeons that are exactly like every other game dungeon that has ever been made, pointless monsters and quests, and nothing at all that makes them special (although, this game does have some cool looking flying combat). They are almost there but will have to try a little harder before they get my money. I would love to get into these games because they are great in theory but fall short for the reasons listed above.
I wasn't really going to give DKS a chance. Since i had tried the 360 demo, and it left a bad taste. I'm a big RPG fan though. So i checked out some message boards where even the games fans called the 360 version a steaming pile, and gave insight into exactly how much the game has been improved since Divinity 2 was released. The steal daily sale also helped.
I have Ego Draconis, and although I started it, I never really got into the game. Something else pulled me away. I think it should be fun once I sit down with it and really play through the game. The new version, I'm confused as to what's actually in it.. they repackaged and re-did Ego Draconis and there's a new story/game in addition to that?
Think I'll just play the first one before I buy this other thing.
[QUOTE="Whiteblade999"]Why? Drm? havent noticed it.I'll give it a chance when they take off the DRM on it.

Securom limited installs, I've had issues with the limited installs in the past so as a rule I don't touch anything with it until they patch it out.
I did hated it at 1st! Then i was enjoying it till i got 40 Hours in got to sentinile island and Bang its WAY to easy even on the hardest setting i can almost one shot higher lvl enemies now. Ruined i will give it a go further but the once great difficulty is gone so has my interest! Bugger.
Through Sentinel Island the game wasn't too hard (playing on Normal)... it's after that I've encountered a couple difficulty spikes. The worse one being my fight against the power rangers (lol!). A couple dragon segments have been rather hard, and right now I'm slowly mowing my way through a fortress packed with angry spellcasters... which is moderately challenging. When I say that I mean I die if I'm not careful. I'm playing an archer/explosive arrow character. I'll only get a lucky one-shot against guys on-level/a couple levels lower than me once in a while. And that's with a maxed out Explosive Arrow... You say you're playing on hard and one-shotting everything? Doesn't really add up... unless you just happen to be overlevelled or are currently playing easy enemies... the game difficulty isn't exactly constant... anyways, I've never been one overly concerned with challenge.I did hated it at 1st! Exaggeration when i say one shot but it is pretty close lets say 3 Casts of Magic Missile. Thing is if my Creature / Pet Casts when i do then yeah its almost a one shot on lvl 16 Dragon Elfs and im lvl 15. Anyhow im not playing on hard im playing on Nightmare may i add and its far from a Nightmare at this point in the game. Explosive Arrow is supposed to be one of the more devastating skills! Magic Missile and that other 3 Hit cast is enough to down almost anything in 1 or 2 casts. Re Reading what i posted i said im ALMOST one shot-ting everything.
2 or 1 Shots to be exact and that's not exactly a huge exaggeration now is it. TO easy by far not only that the game starts out Rather hard meaning you pick up survival tactics and ways to defeat to tough enemies early to cope. Then you become a veritable god when you get the pet and you can kill most if not all so far for me enemies with no real effort. Couple that with the fact my Mana Regen's at a rate that's so quick Potions have become pointless. Look a lot of it has todo with gear i have gone out of my way to create entire sets of gear that boost my Magic i have power played and now the challenge has gone. Shame all i did was follow my loot instinct and match the pretty words and armour together.

Its not the games fault that you managed to make a awesome character. You went out of your way to get good gear, enjoy the benefits.
Uhm, ok?I called the original Divinity 2 flopping before pretty much any review came in.
It did.

keep playing until you have to clear fortresses..then come back and tell us if it's still too easy.keep playing until you have to clear fortresses..then come back and tell us if it's still too easy.lawlessx
I take it this fortress is quite hard (I havent come so far yet). I am playing as a brute whose pastime is composed of conduncting all forms of animal cruelty and punching people he doesnt like. Meaning I do not use anything but unarmed, and from what I have heard unarmed is rather weak. And if people find that part hard it makes me just worried how (poorly) my character will fare :(.

honestly i don't think playing this game unarmed is a good idea. i would understand if the developers made weapons like gloves so you can improve with charms and enchantments, but they give you nothing. If i were you i'd start investing in swords. I used duel swords and found it to be very handy to be able to improve both swords for more power. It is possible to still be pretty powerful with the right gear and enchantments. My character was fighting 25+ monsters with two swords one of them being a lvl 14 and i didn't even notice because i put so much str charms and enchantments on it. Once i replaced that sword i was killing things 3-4 lvls higher than me in only afew seconds. If it's too easy, up the difficulty...
Trough the options menu.

Thanks for the suggestion, the only reason I even use unarmed is because I am roleplaying a character whose "ego" is too large to think he doesnt need weapons, judging by how I am faring right now, he may be wrong. I will probably get dual wield as you suggested, would you recommend axes as well? They would fit my character a bit more as swords need a bit finese and finese is one word that definately does not exist in my character's vocabulary.

The axes flow just a smoothly as sword when dual wielding. If you want the one that looks kind of clumsy, I'd try the two-handed swords.[QUOTE="Maroxad"][QUOTE="lawlessx"]honestly i don't think playing this game unarmed is a good idea. i would understand if the developers made weapons like gloves so you can improve with charms and enchantments, but they give you nothing. I was going to buy it during the Steam sale, but decided against it. Why? I have Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 to play first, not to mention Morrowind to finish and KOTOR II and Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum on the backburner. That's just counting PC RPGs.
If it goes below $20, though, I'll probably consider it again. It looks really fun.

I am really loving this game have about 15 hrs into it or so. i didnt play the original version just the new improved one, but i dont see why no one liked it. The production values are lower then the blockbusters we are used to, but the game is really fun, I have not been bored at all yet. graphics are good on this revamped version. It is actually my favorite game I got from the steam sale. I really loved mirrors edge as well, guess I like games that many consider crappy.
[QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"][QUOTE="SkyWard20"]Uhm, ok? don't mind him..he only plays games that are overly hyped and score high reviews. um ok, i played up to the point of sentinel hill first. it's not terrible or anything, but I wouldn't score the original much higher than the critics did.I called the original Divinity 2 flopping before pretty much any review came in.

the gameplay was bad: imbalanced difficulty, odd controls, worse animations.
Mind-reading was also remarkably dull. So was the story. So were the characters. But for people who liked the Witcher, it should be right up their alley.
