I having been watching it for awhile and I think it looks great, i've always been a fan of dota, and think this game compares well to it. What aree your guy's thoughts on Demigod?

Yeh it looks great but seriously might want to think twice about getting it mate, the game maps look really uncreative, from what I hear most of the little units are A.I. controlled, no base building...kinda pointless game. IGN is all praise though. I can't see this game being as good as they say it is, but if you really looking forward to it, then I just advise read up on Demi-god, visit the site and don't buy it on release, wait a day and then ask people what its like.

What he said ^ I do not think it compares to Dota. Dota for one has around 90 heroes, all different. It has a single map, but so detailed and strategically sound (with hiding spots when you retreat, or "juke spots" to lose your pursuivants, and so on), and the gameplay is deep and has years of balancing work into it. Demigod on the other side has around 8 heroes only, the maps look so flat and void of details or smaller finer strategic importance, and even the graphics do not look that appealing to me. They are detailed as in bigger resolution, but the artwork and the general view you get is so generic.. Just look at the ground, it is so flat, its contours boxy, and even its texture is bland. I am even tempted to say that Dota is globally prettier even if much older (having forests, rivers, creeps, ground of different levels, paths, and even the fog of war adds to the atmosphere). All of these are just impressions from the videos, so I might be wrong. And I hope I am wrong because I would love to play other great dota-like games. But I will be sure to check the demo for this one before buying.

Yeah, I've heard of Demigod, but it sounds kind of shallow and boring, like there's not enough to it.

Was totally hyped to play the Beta of it, but took a hiatis from gaming for a while. Cant wait to play it!

I completely agree that it looks boring but I'll wait for the reviews. I like to explore in my games, Demigod doesn't offer much in the way of exploration from the looks of it. It looks more like a tabeltop sort of game.

Yeah I've heard of it, but that's that. Chris Taylor was great at SupCom, but a low-scale fantasy RTS like Demigod will need a whole bunch of new ideas to get through the market. And I don't think those megaunits cover them...
