Whatever you do, don't start a paladin, it's currently the worst class in the game, wait till Blizzard finishes building the class from 0. I doubt it'll take more than a few more months since it's already been like 2 months from the initial announcement but you never know with Blizzard, they always take their time.Mainly playing my 85 Troll Mage. Recently Ive been doing lots of PvP for heirlooms for the Pala or Rogue I might make in the future. Will need to finish leveling my Human War though I left him at 83.

My subscription is cancelled right now, but I've played every class. The last thing I did before I quit was level all 10 classes to 80. As for raiding and PvP, I focused on about 2 characters per game.
Classic WoW - Tauren Warrior, Troll Hunter
Burning Crusade - Blood Elf Paladin, Blood Elf Mage (yes I jumped on the blood elf bandwagon)
Wrath of the Lich King - Undead Priest (Shadow), Troll Shaman
Classes I haven't focused on yet: Death Knight, Warlock, Druid, Rogue
I plan to get Cataclysm sometime this summer, but haven't decided which of those 4 classes I will focus on. I'm not sure if I will get 85 with the others either.

In my experience the best time to start a class is usually when it is weak. By the time it is maxed out and geared the class will have been buffed. I'm not sure if this still applies because I know they made leveling way faster. I haven't played in over a year.

It's a lot harder to get epics now, so it's kinda like that, but it doesn't help when you're also into PvP and you want to perform good. There are reports on the official forums with proof, of arms warrior dealing 66K per second (of course with all cooldowns) on a 3900 resi DK iirc (not sure about the class and I didn't care about the spec), that's just insane, that's higher than most mages do in PvE and mages have some insane damage.I stopped playing on the 6th of Jan so I didn't manage to get great PvP gear, I'm full Bloodthirsty with the Vicious helmet and I have enough points for the Vicious chest, with all that I should have around 3K resi and my best dps on full PvP gear was 18K, looking at the insane regen of the warrior, all this feels like a dream, I'd literally be finished on sight if I meet such a warrior and equal gear won't do a single thing for that. Warrior also gets an insane buff for some of the most important attacks in 4.1 while it gets just a tiny nerf for its stunns. What sucks is that, because they're completely rebuilding the paladin, it barely gets any balancing updates, in 4.1 it only gets some changes for the AEO, it makes it from nonexistent to a possible excuse to waste holy power and it got pretty much nothing in the last months unlike the other classes.
The game is good but, it's getting old. It's also over convoluted with stats and skills from all the expansions and updates. Try Rift, it's just recently release with much better graphics with very similar gameplay.

Yeah.. I agree.. With the addition of mastery, they should have removed another stat along with Armor pen.. There is entirely too many stats... I thought Burning Crusade had the right amount.. That being said, my account is inactive atm.. Though I currently have a 85 Worgen DK and 60 Troll Druid.. The 1 to 58 content is absolutely phenomonal..

Really? I kinda disagree, it feels way simplified from the stat system in Wrath. Gear selection to me feels drop-dead easy... Though I can agree that some classes have too many situational abilities that are rarely used (warlock/shaman in specific). I play a Goblin Priest. Mostly for raiding, PvP feels kinda off right now...STFU TrollGrow up, play good games kid. Start with...Half-Life.

Mostly for raiding, PvP feels kinda off right now...Thats the thing though... The gear has become a number crunching game instead of something that makes you feel unique.. When you look at weapons (that really started with BC) they have become generic in being the exact item as the last, just slightly better stats.. This oversaturation of stats has led to the stagnation of gear imo.. Where the uniqueness of items really don't exist anymore.. It has become teir based time sink in which rare drops mean much anymore compared to last.. Its both a blessing curse.. On one hand we don't have to waste countless hours on a drop that may not or may come moes times, while at the other end.. 90% of the items are recycled graphics with no unique stats to them.. I mean what ever happend to chance on hits procs by weapons? It use to cornerstone in MMO's..
Finally I honestly think they should split the game in pvp and pve.. IN that when you join a battleground and battlefields your abilities fundamnetally change for the competitive nature of pvp.. This of course would make open world pvp more or less useless.. Except when your leveling.. And even than, 99% of the time its a gank griefing fest..

Half Life is old and outdated, the first person shooter genre has moved on.
It's a good game but is on the decline. Notice Blizz don't publish figures on subs no more? Because the figures are going down. Just last week I cancelled my sub after 6 years. And in the last 2 to 3 months, eight members of my guild have quit the game. You visit the offical WoW forums and MMO champion and you will read of people cancelling subs because they are bored of the game. For me tho I cancelled when I heard the next big patch is a re-hash of old vanilla content. I did the dungeons/raids 5 years ago, i don't want to do them again.
So to answer your question about "how many people play WoW??" less and less every week!

lol, ok. Dated graphics imho don't make a game bad. In fact there are mods to upgrade them. Half Life is outstanding.

Rofl, is this some kind of joke? Ever played Cataclysm? scratch that, ever played WoW after they balanced it in WotLK or you just think paladin is unstoppable because the game was completely unbalanced when the class was introduced? Check the DPS facts, the top of DPS charts are mages, warriors and a few lost warlocks, what's separating the high dealers from mainstream is a huuuge wall and low dps dealers like the paladin are pathetic and yes in case you haven't noticed since forever, Blizzard admitted that paladin is a broken class because it's the only one for which mastery is completely irrelevant, there goes a huge disadvantage and it's based entirely on luck, they want to change that, completely and redesign some of it's spells and attacks. For the paladin to be a good class you need to have all the luck in the world and get absolutely every crit, holy power bonus, etc effect, then it becomes a little over the potential of a DK and still far from mages and warriors, but those effects activating is a rare sight.Mainly playing my 85 Troll Mage. Mastery is the most important stat for Cataclysm, reforging to strength, expertise, etc, is a huge disadvantage compared to what mastery "should" do, especially for DPS. In case you haven't noticed, I don't play paladin as a tank or healer (healing at all, tank just on a DK), and you can't just ignore a spec just because you can respec. As for items, yeah it sucks but at the same time it's great, because after you do get the gear and you want other stuff, it forces you to actually do stuff in the game, not just grind gear all day, which is a huge problem for elitists that can't be bothered with the actual game, might even make them quit, probably has quite a few of them, blessing to the others.

That depends entirely on the class and spec.. For instance for Frost DK's... Haste is still seen as the better thing over mastery... To me they should have released mastery in BC... Its seems like such a supposedly key aspect but is crippled when they have to balance it with several other stats.

lol wut? Prot Paladins are great tanks and Holy Paladins are damn OP now. Ret DPS has been buffed significantly in 4.0.6 and now does decent damage. Of course, Ret in PvP is still pretty bad but Holy Paladins still remain the best PvP healers.
And anyway, if I really wanted to DPS, I sure as hell wouldn't play Ret... Tanking/Healing make the Paladin class fun.
I play paladin for what he/she is ;) melee spellcaster, the rest are just options given for people that won't to damage.
You still do good DPS as Ret now, I've seen a lot of Ret pallies in my heroics pull 10k dps with just heroic gear. 4.0.6 really has fixed a lot of Ret issues.I play paladin for what he/she is ;) melee spellcaster, the rest are just options given for people that won't to damage.
DanielDust
10k is no buff, it's pathetic, I pull 12K with a few pieces of heroics (gave up on PvE till they actually do something about Paladin - got embarrassed when almost all classes with similar gear had 19K minimum, a hunter with worse gear actually had a constant 28K in Tol'Vir, but the finisher, oh that was awesome knocked me out cold, protection paladin with similar gear, just a little better gear, was dealing 18K constantly....).
Since there is nothing really about paladin in 4.0.6 I really doubt the existence of this buff you speak of, the only damage change ret got was 100% chance to hit the 2nd target out of 4 or 5 or w/e from one of the AEO spells that are entirely irrelevant anyway till 4.0.1.
I'll respectfully disagree with it being the best 3D game. Now the game is good at what it does but has a problem with poor balance and the gear tread mill (I know people like this but it drives me up a wall). I would say Guild Wars is my favorite 3D game because it leans more towards my philosophy of what an online RPG should be.
