how many watts of psu should i buy for my specs?

how many watts of branded psu should i buy for my computer?

the specs is

athlon x2 2.6ghz

ati radeon hd 4670

and 250gighdd

By Athlon x2 2.6ghz i assume you mean the athlon X2 6200 ? Anyway anything between 600-800W should be enough.

it's athlon 5000.. yes 2.6gh x2.. how about a branded 500w? because my budget is only for a 500w. im now using a generic 500w psu.. and it gets hot when i play.. so whatya think? ?

500W are enough for your rig. probably even a 450W psu would do just fine. why is everybody thinking that a monster psu is a must-have nowadays :|

500W are enough for your rig. probably even a 450W psu would do just fine. why is everybody thinking that it's a monster psu is a must-have nowadays :|

you can just recheck it using the calculator, the pc will be probably using even under 400W under heavy load :D

so 500W are definitely enough.
