14.99 a month x 12 do the math If they expect us to buy 40 dollar expansion packs in the future, I think the rate should be dropped to 9.99

Too much!  It's graphics, while beautiful are starting to show their age.  I bought the game because it was only $20.00 and came with one month of play time, which is good for the initial purchase.  However, with now over 8 million subscribers you think that Blizzard would be able to lower the overall subscription cost.  Or at least offer cheaper pricing with the more time you buy.  WoW is installed on my PC, but I won't be resubscribing till it's more reasonably priced.  I don't care how much effort/cost goes into maintaining servers, which is probably not as much as they claim!

I agree with that. They should lower the monthly cost, I think that might just influence people to pick up the game. It's a great game, I can manage the $40 every 60 days (Aus, that is), but it would be nice if they droppped it a bit.

Why am I the only one that thinks 20 dollars a month is nothing. I mean realize how much new games are and 20 dollars is cheap, I find wow is a great alternative to buying new games and well nearly saves money in the long run.

Well most people buy a new game every month that's 60 dollars a month (50 for PC). The way I see it is 15USD a month is cheaper than 50 or 60. I have quit until Cataclysm comes out, but once that is out I will be playing like there is no tomorrow. My xfire only shows me playing 1300 hours, but I've had WoW since 05' and Xfire since 08'. My total for subscription comes out to be ~650USD and my features that I paid for will probably put me up about 200USD so altogether almost 900USD is pretty good for 5 years in my opinion.

$179.88

That's quite a lot. However, if you get two six month subscription plans, your total would only be $155.88, although, you have to pay both of them upfront.

Yep, I agree. I remember when I was hardcore into WOW and didn't buy any new games for months. I did say some money. In fact I still play and save money.

From my experiences (been playing wow off and on for over 3 years) I save money playing WoW. It's $15.00 a month, but it offers tons of entertainment. I personally don't like how I act with my RL friends when I play WOW but the game does save money.

Yeah I'm sure they would get SO MUCH more subscribers if they lowered the price. 200 bucks a year is WAY too much for a game.

20 bucks is enough for a new games system?? Since when... Maybe is you buy a PS1... Its far cheaper than buying games normally. 14.99 US (thats like 2 hours work for me at minimum wage)... im a student with a big loan and I can afford it. If you can afford internet you should be able to afford this.

And to everybody who reckons blizz should drop the price. Blizzards revenue does not = $14.99 US * 10 million subscribers. Most of the subscribtions are in China where they use a differant pricing model. They buy a certain amount of minutes. This model makes ffar less than the 14.99 a month that we pay. So while i still think blizz makes a decent amount they are not rolling around in an unlimited supply like some people think.

I relly dont mind paying the small amount of $14.99 a month when i know it will support one of the great PC games developers.

WoW is a waste of money.nivet14

13€ a month

24 hours a day of possible playtime with infinite replayability

6 to 24 hours weekly downtime

No need for any other game.

Even if you bought 1 new game a month, it would still cost way more than WoW and give much less.

Learn to do math. The only waste of money here is the server space and bandwidth usage you used to write that useless post.

Unfortunetly it will not go down. Too many people play. Thats how businesses do now a days. In fact the sub might even go UP(Though I seriously doubt it). If it did it will be little by little. Just like everything else in this world. People will accept(although whine and complain) small ups in fee's or things becoming more expensive.. If they were to go to 20 dollars a month or more suddenly. People wouldnt take it.
